Prayer Ministry Director: Suzi Ketch
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
These verses have helped guide Suzi to the Lord for a large part of her life. While she admits she does not understand all the things that have gone on in her life, she does trust that the Lord knows what he is doing. He is guiding her every step of the way.
This fact has been especially true over the last seventeen years. During college Suzi met and married Adam. After two years of marriage at the age of 26 Adam was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and Suzi really had to lean not on her own understanding. Adam fought and overcame it. He stayed strong in his faith, and that helped Suzi as she walked through the disease with him.
Four years later, just after Adam finished seminary, he was diagnosed again. However, this time he passed away. Suzi, at the age of 30, lost the love of her life after eight years of marriage. The Lord has guided her path even when she did not understand why she and Adam had to experience what they did.
The Lord has guided in Suzi's teaching position. She teaches elementary children with special needs. Each day is a challenge, but she loves helping children learn and grow into productive adults. Suzi was teacher of the year at her school in 2011. Through her relationship with the Lord, she finds the strength she needs to guide the students with which He has entrusted her.
Suzi just knows the Lord is close to her. It's as if he is sitting beside her on the sofa. Prayer is a huge part of her life. The Lord has shown her his presence and offered her relief, comfort, and peace. Through her conversations with the Lord she has gained love, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
Suzi feels the Lord has asked her to be a part of the Ashes to Crowns ministry by praying for it and Sharon. She is blessed to be a part of this wonderful ministry.
