TOPICS AND SERIES

TOPICS SHARON TEACHES

(Sharon exegetes the Biblical text and develops messages to meet your time or age group needs.)
ASHES TO CROWNS
God wants to take us from the ashes of our past and crown us with His love. We can learn how to move from the pit to the palace, living as children of the King of kings. This message is Sharon’s testimony.
THE JESUS MAKE-OVER — LOVE GIFT CERTIFICATES
Many people still struggle with the concept of unconditional love. They see God’s love for others more than for themselves. Through a study of the events at Jesus trials, crucifixion, and resurrection, we can see how much He really loves each one of us.
THE TASTE OF OUR THOUGHTS
If your thought life bothers you, and you want victory over it, you can! This topic deals with what God thinks about our thoughts, what He wants from our thought life, and how the sweet-smelling savor of our words can season our relationship with Him.
HOW TO BE A MARY WHEN MARTHA WANTS CONTROL
Have you ever wished you could sit at the feet of Jesus like Mary? Do you feel as though your life is more like Martha's? Through a study of Mary's and Martha's lives we can learn how to be more like Christ. (This topic can be delivered as two messages.)
THE BALANCED PLATE IS A HAPPY PLATE
Does your life feel like a paper plate that flops with too much on it? Do you have to be busy to feel Godly? This session teaches balancing the plate of our lives with God's best, saying "no" without feeling guilty, and being satisfied with wholesome decisions.
THE HEART OF AN ARTICHOKE?
PEELING THE LAYERS TO FIND THE REAL YOU

Through childhood we are taught how to please people. Knowing the truth about our personalities and temperaments is important to our well-being. God wants each of us to be the wonderful person He designed. This talk helps us peel the layers that keep us from being all we can be.
THE REAL SURVIVOR:
OVERCOMING, NOT JUST EXISTING

Hurts of our past teach us to survive. Freedom in Christ leads us to overcome, brings joy, and assists us in becoming more than conquerors.
SUBMITTING WITHOUT SUBMERGING
The topic of submission can spark terror in the hearts of women. Submission does not require misplacing who Christ made us to be. We can discover the fun of submission without the fear of submersion.

SERIES

(The series topics can be taken alone or turned into talks touching the highlights of the series.)
EPHESIANS Series
The Ephesians series presents an overview of the book of Ephesians: Lavished with Grace (Ch. 1); Living in the Heavenlies (Ch. 2); Learning to Pray God’s Way (Ch. 3); Loving a Unified Life (Ch. 4-5:21); Loving Relationships (5:21-6:9); Lifting up the Armor (6:10-20); Looking for Opportunities to Share (6:21-23).
PHILIPPIANS Series
When Paul and Silas were in prison in Philippi, they burst into singing. That wasn’t the only time Paul looked at life with a joyful song. He delighted when people accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He rejoiced when believers lived in harmony. The theme of this Bible study is Paul’s Life-Song and is based on Sharon’s Commentary-Workbook© she wrote on Philippians. The series explores Paul’s joy in his "Song of Freedom," "Song of Encouragement," "Song in a Minor Key," "A Call for Songs in Excellent Harmony," and "A Reminder to Sing."
Experience Paul’s joy as he teaches how to:
  • live in harmony with disagreeable people
  • persevere in faith during difficult situations
  • look for the best in every circumstance
  • work for restoration in broken relationships
